Hi, I’m Jen.
I live in a small town in Iowa with my husband of 23 years, where we’ve raised three boys who are now becoming young men—which still feels a little wild to say.
I’m a habitual dreamer, lifelong people person and someone whose mind rarely stops imagining what could be next. Oh, the possibilities!
I’m a little bit tomboy and a little bit girly girl. I love lifting heavy weights, am a drugstore makeup connoisseur and wake surf whenever Iowa weather allows. I’m equally happy getting dirty outside or getting dressed up with nowhere particularly important to go. Give me good music, time in nature and the people I love, and that’s a win for me. Oh, and coffee too!
How I Got Here
After earning a degree in Community Health Education from Iowa State University, I worked in counseling and human resources, then spent seven years at home raising our boys.
In 2013, I took a leap of faith and opened a gym. For 10 years, I coached women, built a community and ran a business I was incredibly proud of.
And then I was ready for something different.
Not because that chapter wasn’t good. Because it was.
But I don’t believe we’re meant to stay the same simply because something has worked.
The Next Chapter
As my boys became young adults, I was evolving, too. My definition of wellness had grown beyond exercise and nutrition, and I found myself asking a bigger question:
What actually creates harmony in our lives?
That question became JS Lifestyle and our five waves: Spirituality, Wellness, Style, Community + Home.
I believe we can love who we are today while still being excited about who we’re becoming. We can change direction. Start again. Get stronger. Deepen our faith. Dream bigger. And yes, wear the damn outfit.
Why I’m Here
At 48, I’m not winding anything down.
I’m still becoming. Still willing to take the risk and see what happens.
And I want other women to believe that possibilities always exist. We get to make choices that shape a life that feels fulfilling and uniquely our own.
Your life doesn’t have to look like mine—or anyone else’s. There is no single definition of a beautiful life.
You get to create it by your own design.
Because the pursuit of living your best life never really ends.
Become the Woman You Love.
